Early Career Principals Academy

Project Goal
Early Career Principals Academy (ECPA) is a statewide leadership development program for early-career principals in North Carolina. ECPA is led by the NC Principals and Assistant Principals’ Association (NCPAPA). Its diverse group of funders include The Belk Foundation, the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), and the NC Alliance for School Leadership Development (NCASLD). Hasse and Lovin Associates served as the independent evaluator.

The Assistant Principal Accelerator

Project Goal
The Assistant Principal Accelerator (The AP Accelerator) is a statewide leadership program for assistant principals who demonstrate potential to be fast-tracked into a principalship. The AP Accelerator is led by NC Principals and Assistant Principals’ Association (NCPAPA) and has a diverse group of funders including the Belk Foundation, NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, the NC Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center, and the NC Alliance of School Leadership Development. Hasse and Lovin Associates served as the independent evaluator.

Bellvue Public Schools

Project Career Launch

Project Goal
Project Career Launch (PCL) was a district-wide initiative with 15 of the Bellevue Public School (BPS) district’s 20 schools supported by DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity) funding (HE1254-20-1-0017) the other 5 district schools supported by the school district’s use of local funds for comparable activities. The project had two goals to increase K-12 literacy and increase the number of health science related dual enrollment credit hours. Hasse and Lovin Associates served as the independent evaluator.

Operation Taking Flight

Project Goal
Operation Taking Flight (OTF) is a $2,000,000 Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) competitive grant. During the 5 years of funding (HE1254-23-1-5040), Bellevue Public Schools (BPS) commits to improve math achievement and develop college and career readiness through a new Aviation Academy (AA). OTF is a district-wide initiative with 14 of the district’s 20 schools supported with DoDEA funding while the school district is using local funding to support comparable activities at the other 6 district schools. Hasse and Lovin Associates serves as the independent evaluator.

Wake County Public Schools

Exploring STEM Careers

Project Goal
Exploring STEM Careers was a STEM enrichment opportunity for small cohorts of rising eighth grade students. It was designed to include summer camps and offsite learning experiences during the school year. The goals of this hands-on, inquiry-based science and engineering program were as follows: 1) Provide access to a rigorous and real-world science curriculum, 2) Encourage enthusiasm for science and engineering, and 3) Introduce a variety of STEM careers. Exploring STEM Careers was funded by a Student STEM Enrichment Program (SSEP) award made by the Burroughs Wellcome Fund to Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). Hasse and Lovin Associates served as the independent evaluator.

Project Goal
Strengthening Institutions Program (Title III) is a $2,049,759 U.S. Department of Education grant. During the 5 years of funding, Western Piedmont Community College commits to increase retention and completion of degree-seeking students and reduce gaps among underrepresented students. Hasse and Lovin Associates served as proposal developers alongside Western Piedmont Community College.
